Hey guys, Alex Cummins here, hunting rep for Canada First Ammo and owner of AB Wingmen. I wanted to share a couple exciting things in the waterfowl world with you all
Firstly, my good friend Bill Dougan has recently joined Delta Waterfowl as the new Regional Director for Western Canada. Bill has a lot of history with Delta and brings forth some extensive knowledge and a huge passion for waterfowling. Congratulations on the new position Bill
For those of you who may not know, Delta Waterfowl is the Duck Hunters Organization, working to produce ducks and secure the future of waterfowl hunting. Deltas new initiative is the HunteR3 program. The abbreviation stands for Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation. I will be working along side Bill to strengthen some existing chapters (locally the Red Deer chapter) and to focus a lot of interest at the next generation of hunters. In January we will be going into rural Elnora school to join the Outdoor Ed class and do a hen house project with them
We have graciously been invited into the school to join 27 students from grade 5-8 and build 9 hen houses to be set up in some local wetland areas. This project not only will help educate the students about conservation efforts but it also ties in to their current studies about responsibility for global environments and incorporating outdoor recreation activities as part of a healthy lifestyle
